AREA DESCRIPTION
The Dunkelsee project area is located east of the B102 and west of the village of Prützke (Potsdam-Mittelmark district, Kloster Lehnin municipality). The low-lying area, which is mainly occupied by pastureland and woodland, was formerly drained by the Prützke pumping station via a system of channels. Since the pumping station was put out of operation, the low peatland has drained into Rietzer See (Lake Rietz) by natural outflow.
