AREA DESCRIPTION
The peatland near Rossow in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin (independent town of Wittstock/Dosse) is located in the Wittstock-Ruppiner Heath and drains via the Glockenbachgraben and a pipeline to the Dosse river. The low-lying areas, bordered by pine forests, contain shallow low-lying peatland. The southern part of the peatland is covered by a forest of alder. The main drainage channel is without water flow in the lower reaches. Here, the incoming water seeps into the subsoil and the bottom of the channel is dry.
