AREA DESCRIPTION
The Obere Temnitz project area is located north of the village of Rägelin in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin. It encompasses the source of the Temnitz river with strongly flowing springs and spring peatland areas as well as larger peatland areas on both sides of the Temnitz river, some of which are structured as throughflow peatland. A system of channels drains the groundwater escaping at the periphery of the valley, and former channel dams here have only a limited spatial effect.
